(D) The Architekturbüro Bolles & Wilson has been based in Münster since 1988. It is run by Peter Wilson and Julia Bolles-Wilson. Peter first studied in his native city, at Melbourne University, before joining the Architectural Association in London in 1972, where he was Unit Master for ten years from 1978 on, the year that Julia Bolles studied there, after graduating in 1976 from Karlsruhe University. They started the Wilson Partnerships in London in 1980, and the Architekturbüro Bolles & Wilson in 1987, before setting up shop in Germany. In the port of Rotterdam, the Bridgewatchers' House floats on the horizon of ships' captains. The watchers process complex maritime navigational data linked with traffic network data -opening and closing bridges. The house is permanently manned, split between household and professional tasks which turn it into a moveable frontier between often quite distinct activities, in a territory that is being forever reshaped, and a setting that is being forever invented.
