IaN+ was founded in Rome in 1997 as a multidisciplinary team that associates theory with practice. IaN+ is also involved in teaching, publishing and organizing exhibitions and shows. It took part in ArchiLab 2000, and then at the Venice Architectural Biennale. IaN+ is currently working on several projects in Rome, including a residential complex and a square, which both question and challenge urban conditions. For IaN+, architecture is not a fixed object, but rather an on-going system of links and exchanges. IaN+ rethinks programmes based on topological diagrams, which map out the activities which are carried on in a building. Here, just like the body, architecture is an unaltered structure, but with ever variable inner configurations. In this approach to space permeated by a temporal and forever fluctuating dimension, emptiness and void are a crucial and dynamic factor. In their project, the living area is something that is continuous with the territory, changing in the landscape, while the human body is the reference for the way of residing.
