(SP) The Argentinian Willy Müller opened his agency in 1996 in Barcelona--where he has been living since 1985--in association with THB Consulting Engineers. He has curated several architectural exhibitions (Autografias, Barcelona, 1993-94), written articles in various publications (Quaderns, Fisuras, etc.), and teaches at the advanced technical college (ETSAB) in Barcelona, and at the Advanced School of Architecture of Catalonia (ESARQ). In 1997, with Manuel Gausa and Vicente Guallart, he took part in founding Metapolis, a multi-faceted organization combining think-tank, exhibitions and the dessimination of architectural ideas. Willy Müller's praxis, which is determinedly multi-disciplinary, is aimed at being at the crossroads of research into architectonic form and forward-looking thinking about its production context. By borrowing methods of industrial design and automobile engineering, Willy Müller goes back to the issue of the industrialization of architecture. As a reflection about prefabricated housing cells, the series of projects AD Filling Structures (AD1, AD2, AD3) is part of this research.
