(SLO) | Jurij Sadar and Bostjan Vuga, graduates of Ljubljana University, are both architects and engineers and have been working together since 1992. In 1996, they set up their agency in Ljubljana, focusing on determinedly trans-disciplinary projects, open to many different lines of thinking that relates to building (engineering, economics, landscape, graphic design...). As well as to all manner of parallel influence (art, fashion, new media...), not forgetting the European architectural context. Sadar and Vuga are active members of the Ocean.Net collective, a network of young architects and designers hailing from the Architectural Association where Bostjan Vuga spent a year. With the Nomad house the project for a 2500 sq.m. private house in a residential area of Ljubljana the nomadism involved here is mainly that of usage, and habitation. Throughout the year, and depending on the season, they find temporary installations, partly connected to potential outside extensions, with south or north-facing terraces, as well as with inside extensions, by juggling with the two atria which provide an ongoing redistribution of activities within the house. |
