(USA) Peter Anthony Zellner is a young, Australian architect with a degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Victoria, and more recently a graduate of the Southern Californian Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, in Cambridge, Mass. Today, he runs Z+ in Santa Monica, California, and lives and works in the United States. He has nevertheless imported from his native Australia an unusual intelligence in the way he sees transitional suburban zones. In the area created by this confrontation, and with a curiosity about apparent juxtapositions of urban development and a natural environment, Peter Zellner designs an architecture that embraces both an urban setting with often extremely busy development, and an at times intact natural environment. He juggles with assemblages and interstices, folds and shifts, showing a preference for "dissolution, adventure and uncertainty", as Klaus-Klaas Lœhnert writes.
